Tyler Boyd says Joe Burrow might be ‘iffy’ on knee right now

Even though he took Wednesday off as a planned rest/rehab day, Joe Burrow is the talk of Cincinnati Bengals training camp.

To say Burrow and his offense have struggled would be an understatement. That’s not totally unexpected, especially considering some of his offensive linemen are dealing with injuries and some restrictions by the coaches changed things.

Perhaps the most interesting, noteworthy thing to come from camp was an interview with wideout Tyler Boyd, who told reporters Burrow still seemed a little “iffy” on his knee.

Sounds concerning on first pass — but not really.

We’re talking about a guy still rehabbing a surgically repaired knee. Whether he’d be ready by the season opener was a question. He’s also trying to work with a re-tooled throwing motion that has helped him put more velocity on throws.

Burrow was always going to be uncomfortable on his knee in training camp practices as he got back into the swing of things. For now, it’s remarkable he’s even participating. Iffy for now, it’s safe to predict that won’t last long.
