Tyler Boyd does his part to recruit J.J. Watt to Bengals

If Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tyler Boyd had his way, free-agent defensive lineman J.J. Watt would sign with the team.

Boyd made that clear enough over the weekend when he tagged Watt himself in a post, saying the following: “@JJWatt Bengals bro lets turn this s— up.”

The rebuilding Houston Texans cut Watt free last week in an effort to spur that roster turnover and give one of the best defenders ever a chance to find a new home before free agency opens in March.

We looked at whether the Bengals should pursue Watt now that he’s available. So far, though, it sounds like Cincinnati could just end up facing him twice a year because two other AFC North teams have reportedly shown an interest.

It would be pretty unlike the Bengals to go and get Watt and he figures to want to close out his career with a contender. But credit goes to Boyd for at least shooting his shot.
