Tyler Boyd again makes it clear he wants to stick with Bengals

It doesn’t matter how many times it gets asked — Tyler Boyd will keep doubling down on the idea he wants to be with the Cincinnati Bengals for a long time.

Boyd, entering the final year of his deal, found himself asked about his future again and kept it simple, according to Fox 19’s Joe Danneman:

“I show it. I’m here practicing every day to show (the organization) I care about them. I believe I’ve showed I want to be here.”

If Boyd sounds like a broken record…he is. Boyd said in May he thinks an extension could happen between the two sides during training camp. He’s also suggested the contract the New York Giants gave Sterling Shepard as a baseline.

It is hard to imagine the Bengals don’t do a deal with Boyd, who broke out last year with 1,028 yards and seven touchdowns, stepping up big with A.J. Green in and out of the lineup and Andy Dalton missing time.

The only hiccup here might be an extension for a contract-year player like A.J. Green. But it wouldn’t be a surprise to think the front office is talking to both right now and something will get announced near camp over the summer.

Until then, Boyd is going to keep stressing his commitment to the team.
