Tyler Adams is 'super excited' as he outlines his Leeds United expectations

New Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams admits he can't wait to play in front of a packed out Elland Road following his summer transfer move from RB Leipzig. The American international has signed a five-year contract with the Whites after swapping Leipzig for Leeds in a £20m transfer.

With Kalvin Phillips having departed for Manchester City, midfielder reinforcements for Jesse Marsch were absolutely vital. New arrivals Adams and Marc Roca will both try and help to offset the loss of Phillps.

Adams was someone who had been heavily linked with Leeds all summer, and has previously worked under Marsch at Leipzig during the latter's stint in Germany. And the 23-year-old can't wait to get started, revealing that he already knows what is demanded of a Leeds United player in his introductory club interview.

“Super excited," Adams told LUTV following his move to Leeds.

"You know, walking in for the first time, meeting people today at the training ground, coming to the stadium. It’s empty now but I can’t wait to play in front of a full crowd with the fans.

"[I know] A little bit - I’ve obviously watched the documentary which is quite popular and was able to learn a lot of important things about the clubs but one thing for me is the passion of the fans of city - you know, what it requires to be a Leeds United player.

"So far, what I’ve heard is that it’s electric. Talking to my friends that have played in the Premier League, they say it’s one of the best atmospheres they’ve ever played in. Now to have those fans supporting me, it’s something special."

Growing up Adams was an avid Premier League fan, keen to get his eyes on as many matches as he possible could.

And the prospect of playing in what is widely regarded as the best league in the world was something that attracted Adams to Leeds.

"For me, growing up, it was only watching the Premier League," said Adams.

"That’s all I had on the TV so I would always turn that on and watch every game, whichever I could get my eyes on. So for me, coming to the Premier League was always a dream of mine and now I’m able to experience it.

"That’s the most important thing for me. Playing against the best teams, playing against the best players, proving yourself to everybody, that’s why I picked here."
