Tyler Adams has already delivered verdict on Arsenal amid summer transfer links

Tyler Adams is reportedly a transfer target for Arsenal this summer, as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his options.

The versatile American can play both at right-back and in the centre of midfield, which appeals to the Gunners, according to The Athletic.

However, the same outlet suggests that RB Leipzig are "reluctant to allow Adams to leave" the German club this summer.

The Bundesliga outfit have already seen Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate leave the Red Bull Arena recently.

Adams, 22, also has a long-term contract with the club until June 2025, so they are under no pressure to sell the USA international.

But Adams' love for Arsenal may tempt him to consider a move to north London, if the club do indeed make a move for his services.

The 22-year-old has seen some of his old tweets emerge, with the most recent one from September 2016, where he said: "Oh Arsenal (love heart face emoji)".

There's also a tweet from 2013 where Mesut Ozil signed for the Gunners, where he simply said: "Yes! Ozil to Arsenal!".

It does seem that Adams is a big fan of Arsenal, or at least was, and that possibly could prove a determining factor in where he considers his future to be.

Adams has previously been team-mates with Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe, who spent the second half of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Leipzig, and it seems the pair have kept in touch after all these years.

Smith Rowe posted an Instagram photo recently, where Adams commented: "Idol I swear".

football.london understands Arsenal will be in the transfer market for players in at least five positions this summer, with the squad set for a huge overhaul after a highly disappointing 2020/21 season for Mikel Arteta 's men.

Plenty of fringe players, but also some key squad members, are being linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the coming months.

Granit Xhaka looks set to leave in the near future after agreeing personal terms with AS Roma. Hector Bellerin is also understood to be favouring a move away from north London this summer.

The likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Bernd Leno, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette have also been linked with a departure from Arsenal before the beginning of next season.
