Twynholm race ace David Coulthard backs Sir Jackie Stewart's Race Against Dementia campaign

David Coulthard was back in Scotland this week to show his support for the fight against dementia.

The Twynholm race ace was one of several motorsport stars at Larkhall kart track in Lanarkshire for the launch of a scheme to raise money for Race Against Dementia.

The charity was set-up by three times Formula One world champion Sir Jackie Stewart whose wife Lady Helen has the condition.

DC, who was at Monday’s launch with son Milton, said: “Sir Jackie Stewart has been instrumental in my career and I’ve become more and more aware of how difficult dementia is for families across the UK and around the world.

“So when he put out the call to action through the motor racing world to raise funds for research, I was delighted to be here, as we all have so much respect for him. Formula One is all about the relentless pursuit of results and I’m absolutely onboard for whatever he needs me to do.

“Eighty years young, Jackie is an incredible champion and is respected around the globe.”

The races, backed by Optical Express, will be held at Larkhall from July 29 to August 30. To sign up, visit www.larkhallcircuit.com/raceagainstdementia .
