THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: City police on Friday arrested two youths on charges of assaulting a person with the intention of murdering. The arrested persons were identified as Jithulal, 22, a resident of Vellar, and Anikuttan, 22, a resident of Kovalam. The incident happened on February 14 during the Thiruvallom Panathura temple festival.
The accused used a cricket stump to assault one Unni Sankar, a resident of Poonkulam. He suffered serious injuries in the assault and is under treatment at Medical College Hospital. According to police, the youths attacked Unni Sankar since he had warned the accused against the sale of ganja during the temple festival.
Two held with MDMA
: In another incident, two men were held with MDMA here on Friday. The arrested persons were identified as Abdul Rahman, 26, and Saheer Khan, 21 , residents of Beemapally. The police had strengthened patroling as part of the temple festival at Panathura.
The police got a tip-off that the youths were selling drugs on an isolated service road at Vazhamuttam in a car. The police checked the parked car and seized the drugs. TNN
