Two youngsters included as Manchester United squad revealed for Newcastle United clash

Amad and Shola Shoretire have both been included in Manchester United's matchday squad for Sunday evening's clash with Newcastle United.

Newcastle travel to Old Trafford in desperate need of a positive result as the pressure increases on Steve Bruce.

Despite winning two of their last four league matches, Fulham have won two of their last three, drawing the other, gaining seven points on the Magpies in the last six days.

Newcastle are now just three points above the relegation zone, and while they have a game in hand, a trip to Manchester is not exactly an easy fixture in which to pick up precious points.

Ahead of Newcastle's visit, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called up two youngsters who could both be in line to make their Premier League debut.

Both Amad and Shola Shoretire are yet to make an appearance in the league this year, but they have been included in the matchday day squad and could see minutes on Sunday evening.

United signed Amad, 18, in a £37million deal in January. He made a substitute appearance against Real Sociedad on Thursday and is highly regarded by the club.

Shoretire, meanwhile, grew up in the north east and was included in his first matchday squad on Thursday, too. The 17-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance.

Both could see playing time as United deal with several injuries in midfield and attacking positions.

Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani both missed the Real Sociedad victory with muscular problems. They have not been included in the squad. Meanwhile, Paul Pogba remains out injured and Scott McTominay will also miss the match after he picked up a knock in midweek.

Meanwhile, the pressure is growing on Bruce and Newcastle as Fulham's form continues to improve.

Prior to Fulham's win over Sheffield United, Bruce was keen to stress that there are plenty more points to play for during the latter stages of the campaign.

"Fulham have won and closed the gap a bit, but they’re still struggling to win as well. They have only won one in 14 games. It’s all to play for," he said.

"From 13th downwards you’re looking over your shoulder. We’re not alone in it. If they (Fulham) are confident, then let’s see where we are at the end of the season.

"You have to quietly go about your job and get the points on the board."
