Two young Tottenham players named on prestigious European Golden Boy nomination list

Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon have both been named on the prestigious European Golden Boy list.

The award aims to recognise the most talented young player on the continent and previous winners have included Kylian Mbappe, Paul Pogba, Mario Gotze, Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi, Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling.

The European Golden Boy award was established in 2003 by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, with various other publications across Europe such as L'Equipe, The Times and Bild all involved in the voting.

Sessegnon, 20, has previously been on the list while at Fulham and will be hoping to push on under Jose Mourinho at Spurs in the remainder of this season and next, with his head coach claiming he can see similarities between the youngster and his former Chelsea player Ashley Cole.

Tottenham have high hopes for 19-year-old academy product Skipp.

The teenager broke through last season under Mauricio Pochettino and had two starts in quick succession under Mourinho before football was shutdown in March.

The Portuguese has said he believes both players have a bright future at the north London club.

The duo made the 100-strong list, which features Europe's best young players, and it will be chopped to 60 and then 20 before journalists from around Europe determine the winner later in the year.

The other Premier League players to have made the list are Max Aarons (Norwich), Tino Anjorin (Chelsea), Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea), Angel Gomes (Manchester United), Trae Coyle (Arsenal), Phil Foden (Man City), Eric Garcia (Man City), James Garner (Manchester United), Morgan Gibbs-White (Wolves), Billy Gilmour (Chelsea), Claudio Gomes (Man City), Mason Greenwood (Manchester United), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Yasser Larouci (Liverpool), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Michael Obafemi (Southampton), Pedro Neto (Wolves), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), William Saliba (Arsenal) and Sepp van den Berg (Liverpool).
