Two young men injured in Leyton shooting

Two men have been hospitalised after a double shooting in Leyton.

Police rushed to Francis Road after locals heard gunshots and found the two victims in their 20s.

Unconfirmed reports from local residents claimed they had been shot from behind with a pellet gun.

Their injuries were not life-changing or life-threatening.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 18.48hrs on Sunday, 7 April to Francis Road, E10 with reports that gunshots had been heard.

"Upon arrival, officers found two male victims in their 20s who appeared to have gunshot wounds.

"Both were taken to a London hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life changing or life threatening.

"Police cordons are in place in Francis Road and Tyndall Road, E10.

"At this stage no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
