A two-year-old child has died after an "incident" at a home in a small village, with police treating the death as "unexplained".
Paramedics were the first to arrive at the scene in Garden City, in Flintshire, late on Saturday evening.
North Wales Police said ambulance colleagues called its officers shortly after 10pm to an "incident" involving the toddler.
The child was taken to hospital in Chester by ambulance staff and then later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, NorthWalesLive reported.
The toddler died in hospital on Monday night, a police spokesperson said.

In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, the spokesperson said the child's death is being treated as "unexplained".
Police are working with partner agencies to determine what happened to the child.
The force did not release the gender of the child or the nature of his or her injuries.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly after 10pm on Saturday night (14/8) by ambulance colleagues, to an incident involving a two-year-old child at a property in Garden City, Deeside.
"The child was taken to hospital in Chester by Ambulance staff and then later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, where they sadly died last night.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and we are working with partner agencies to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Garden City is close to the Wales-England border, about five miles west of Chester.
