Two women injured and taken to hospital after four car crash in Leeds

Two women were injured and taken to hospital following a crash in Leeds involving four cars.

West Yorkshire Police were called to the junction of Stainbeck Road and Stainbeck at around 3.54pm after reports of the crash.

Buses were diverted due to the incident and the force also closed the road.

The force has also confirmed that two women have been taken to the hospital for assessment after being injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Emergency services were called to the junction of Stainbeck Road and Stainbeck Avenue in Leeds at about 3.54pm this afternoon to a report of a collision involving four cars. The road was closed and buses diverted as a result of the collision. Two women were taken to hospital for assessment after being injured in the incident.”

Inrix our travel management system states that the road is still closed.

It reads: "Grove Lane in both directions closed due to accident, two cars involved between Stainbeck Avenue and Meanwood Road. Traffic is coping well.

"The road remains closed, having been shut since 17:00."
