Gardai are at the scene of a three-car collision that occurred in Co Longford on Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened at Cahanagh outside Longford town on the R198 at around 2.50pm.
Three cars were involved in the crash, with one woman left seriously injured.
The motorist, who is in her early 50s, was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in a serious condition.
A second woman, who was driving another car, was taken to Tullamore Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The driver and passengers of the third car received medical attention at the scene.

The road is currently closed for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct their examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardai say their investigations are ongoing.
The collision follows a horror three-vehicle crash in Co Meath early on Thursday morning.
Two men were killed in the tragic incident that happened on the R152 in Keenogue, Duleek, at around 6.40am.
The driver of a van, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 30s, who was the sole occupant of one of the cars involved in the collision, was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in nearby Drogheda, but was later pronounced dead.
No other major injuries were reported.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
They are also seeking the help of road users in the area shortly before or after the crash, who may have dash cam footage that can assist the investigation.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
"Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who were travelling on the R152 between Kilmoon Cross and Duleek between 6:20am and 6:50am and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to make this footage available to Gardaí.
