Two women hurt in glass Hamilton pub attack

Two women were hurt when a glass was thrown in a Hamilton pub.

Shannon Beattie, of Divernia Way, Barrhead, was found guilty at Hamilton Sheriff Court of three assault charges.

The disturbance happened at Libertine in Castle Street on November 17.

Beattie (21) threw a tumbler at Sean McEwan, her boyfriend. It missed him but struck Elizabeth Milliken on the head and broke, with shards of glass striking Elaine Dunn on the head.

The two women suffered minor injuries. Beattie was ordered to pay each of them £150 compensation.

She was fined a total of £150 for the assault on Mr McEwan and for shouting, swearing and struggling with police officers.
