Two women were cut from a car following a multi-vehicle collision on A1 near Darlington.
Durham Police were called to reports of a collision involving three vehicles on the A1 Southbound near Darlington at around 12pm today.
The collision happened on the Southbound carriageway near Junction 58 and involved a Mazda campervan, a Hyundai i10 car and a Honda Civic car.
Two women were cut free from the Hyundai car but it is not thought there were any serious injuries.
The road was closed while emergency services including North East Ambulance Service and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service were attending to the scene.
There was a diversion in place when the road was closed however it has since been reopened.
At the time, a spokesperson from Durham Constabulary said: "We were called to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A1 just before noon today.
"The incident happened on the Southbound carriageway near Junction 58 and involved a Mazda campervan, Hyundai i10 car and Honda Civic car.
"Colleagues from the North East Ambulance Service and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service were also on scene.
"The road was closed while two women were cut free from the Hyundai car but it is not thought there were any serious injuries.
"Traffic is currently being diverted around the crash and recovery for all three vehicles has been arranged.
"Drivers are asked to find an alternative route."
