Police were called to concerns for the welfare of two women on bridges in the space of just a few hours.
Officers were first scrambled to the M602 in Salford at around 9.25pm last night (Monday) after a woman was spotted on a bridge. The woman - aged in her 40s - was brought down to safety.
She was taken to hospital from the scene. At around 1am this morning, just a few hours later, officers were called to another report of concern for a woman on a bridge over the same motorway.

The woman - aged in her 20s - was brought down to safety by officers. She was also taken to hospital for specialist care.
All traffic was stopped on a stretch of the M602 while officers responded to this incident. The motorway was reopened at around 3.20am.
In a statement on the incident last night, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 9:25pm yesterday evening (Monday 19 December 2022), officers were called to a concern for welfare of a woman on a bridge in Salford.
"Emergency services attended the scene on M602 and the woman was brought to safety. The woman in her 40s was then taken to hospital and is being cared for by specialist officers and medical staff."
A further statement on the incident this morning said: "At around 1am this morning (Tuesday 20 December 2022), officers were called to a concern for welfare of a woman on a bridge in Salford. Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was brought to safety.
"The woman in her 20s was then taken to hospital and is being cared for by specialist officers and medical staff."
