Two women arrested as police seize over a kilo of cocaine and £20k in cash in late night raid

Over a kilo of cocaine and approximately £20,000 in cash has been recovered from an address in Oldham in a late night raid.

Officers from GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit conducted searches at an address in the Royton and Shaw areas late yesterday evening (April 26).

Two women, aged 26 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Joe Harrop for Greater Manchester Police's Economic Crime Section said: "This result is a significant success in our efforts to clamp down on organised crime, and it's achieved through successful collaborative work across our teams.

"Not only has this removed £50,000 worth of drugs from our streets, we've also seized a significant amount of money, preventing this from being used again for criminal purposes."
