Two women arrested after violent attack outside pub in Salford have been released under investigation

Two women arrested after a violent attack on a woman outside a pub in Salford have been released under investigation.

The 44-year-old victim was assaulted in the street next to The B'Hive, on Holland Street, just before 12am on Saturday.

She was reportedly attacked by a group of people outside the pub and left with head injuries.

A police spokeswoman said she remains in hospital and enquiries are ongoing.

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of section 18 assault.

She has been released from police custody, under investigation.

Another 20-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident has also been released under investigation.

A police cordon could be seen outside the pub on Sunday morning and the street was taped off.

Several police vehicles were also at the scene.

A Greater Manchester Police statement said: "Two women have now been released from police custody under investigation.

"The victim remains in hospital and enquiries are still ongoing."
