Two women arrested after multiple robberies at Scots sheltered accommodation complex

Two women have been arrested after robberies at a sheltered accommodation complex in Dundee.

A 21-year-old and a 40-year-old woman have been charged following the investigation into two robberies and an attempted robbery.

Cops described the crimes as "reprehensible".

The incidents took place on Wednesday, 17 February and Thursday, 18 February, 2021 at the accommodation on Kinghorne Road and Wedderburn Road.

Both women are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, 22 February.

Chief Inspector Ross Fitzgerald said: "Crimes such as these are reprehensible, they have the effect of undermining the usual sense of safety and security felt by residents.

"I hope the arrests reported today leave residents reassured and confident that their local officers are determined to keep them safe.

"I would like to extend my thanks to those members of the public who have contacted the police and offered that vital information which has helped progress our investigation and deliver quick arrests."
