Two women and a man arrested after Glenmavis robbery

Three people have been arrested and charged following a robbery in the Lanarkshire village of Glenmavis.

Police were called to the incident - which involved the theft of a car - on Coatbridge Road on Sunday morning.

The car was later recovered by officers.

Two women and a man have been charged and are expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today (Thursday).

A Police Scotland statement released today said: "Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery in Lanarkshire last weekend.

"The incident, which involved a car being stolen, happened around 9.30am on Sunday, 3 November on Coatbridge Road in Glenmavis.

"Two women - aged 40 and 30 - and a 31-year-old man have been charged and all three are expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today (Thursday, 7 November).

"The car was recovered later the same day in Airdrie."

Detective Inspector Cammy Miller of Coatbridge CID added: "We are grateful to everyone who has assisted with our inquiries into this incident."
