
Two women who died in a crash between two cars have been named, after a teenager was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The collision, involving a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto, happened on Common Lane in Pleasley, Derbyshire, at around 6.20am on Thursday, November 27.
The driver and passenger of the Suzuki were pronounced dead at the scene. They have now been identified as Amie Pearson, 26, who was driving, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, who was the passenger.
A nine-year-old boy travelling in the Suzuki suffered life-changing injuries and remains in hospital.
Three men in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Due to his injuries, he was taken to hospital where he remains.
Derbyshire Constabulary is investigating the incident and is calling for any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
