Two women, 21, beat woman to death after argument in north London

Two women have been jailed for beating another woman to death in a north London flat.

Hamdi Jiumala, 27, was attacked by Kinse Aidid and Magdalena Agathine, both 21, after an argument broke out in the flat in Gainsborough House, Enfield.

Agathine then called a man to tell him they had argued with Ms Jiumala and that she and Aidid had beaten the woman "pretty badly". She put the call on loudspeaker so both she and Aidid could be heard.

Police found Ms Jiumala's naked body lying in a bedroom on 17 September last year.

A post-mortem examination found she had suffered multiple injuries and gave the cause of death as blunt force injuries to the head and body.

Magdalena Agathine, 21, was given a nine year sentence for manslaughter (Metropolitan Police)

Aidid was jailed for life for murder, while Agathine was given a nine year sentence for manslaughter.

CCTV captured Aidid beating Ms Jiumala outside the flat on 16 September. It is believed she was killed at some point between 9.30pm and 8am the following morning.

Police say the three women arrived at the flat on 13 September, 2015. Ms Jiumala, of no fixed address, previously called a friend to say she was having trouble with two women in the flat.

Detective Chief Inspector David Whellams, of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “Hamdi Jiumala suffered a violent death at the hands of Aidid and Agathine who consistently lied about the events of that night and failed to take responsibility for their actions.

“They lied throughout their interviews and lied to the court in order to distance themselves from the murder.”

Aidid, of Denbigh Road, East Ham, and Agathine, of no fixed address, were both found guilty in a trial at the Old Bailey.

A murder charge against Walid Ibrahim, 34, of Church Street, was dismissed.
