Two weeks of downpours predicted to hit UK

It has been a wet week in Bristol and it looks set to continue today with bursts of heavy rain predicted throughout the morning and afternoon.

And although the rain should clear by the evening, it looks set to be a temporary relief as Bristol - and the rest of the UK - is set for two weeks of heavy rain.

Although the worst of the rain is set to hit Scotland and the North of England, reports The Mirror , the south west is predicted frequent bouts of rain for the next few weeks.

And November is only set to be worse as the rain will accompany fog and frost.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Rain will continue to affect parts of southern England and the far south of Wales at times.

"Elsewhere clear intervals and scattered showers, most frequent and heaviest in the northwest. Chilly in the northeast.

"Sunday to Tuesday will be often cloudy with rain or showers across central and southern areas, but generally brighter with isolated showers in the north. Rain and stronger winds arrive from the west on Tuesday."

Saturday (October 11) saw floods across the Bristol area .

Further showers or longer periods of rain are likely on Monday, followed by drier and brighter weather on Tuesday.

Rain will return on Wednesday accompanied by stronger winds.
