A two vehicle smash has closed a busy Wigan road in both directions.
The B5207, Church Lane, in Lowton, has been shut to all traffic between Slag Lane and the A580, East Lancashire Road.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 5.20pm, after two vehicles were involved in a collision.
The crash is believed to have taken place near Bourne Avenue, near the Co-op.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that officers remained at the scene, and the road was still closed.
They said: "Police were called just before 5:20pm to a collision involving two vehicles, and the road remains closed."
Queues are building on Stone Cross Lane North as traffic tries to cope with the diversion.
Stagecoach services on the 10 and 10A routes have been diverted, and passengers should expect delays if they're travelling along the route.
It is not yet known whether anyone has been injured in the incident.
