Two UGA players go in first round of NFL mock draft

NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks released his first round NFL mock draft on Wednesday and it saw two UGA football players go on day one.

Jim Thorpe Award winner Deandre Baker, a senior cornerback, goes 26th overall to the Indianapolis Colts in Brooks’ mock draft.

The Jim Thorpe award winner would immediately upgrade the Colts‘ secondary. Speed is a question, but his instincts, awareness and takeaway skills make him a nice fit in the Colts‘ scheme.

Directly following, at the 27th pick, Brooks has the Oakland Raiders selecting UGA wide receiver Riley Ridley.

Gruden loves skilled route runners at receiver. Ridley is a crafty technician with a knack for getting open and making tough catches in traffic.

Last spring, Georgia saw three players go in the first round of the draft: Roquan Smith, Isaiah Wynn and Sony Michel.
