Two UGA football players inducted into Georgia – Florida Hall of Fame

Two former Georgia Bulldog linebackers, Rennie Curran and Jarvis Jones, have been inducted into the Georgia – Florida Hall of Fame.

The annual Hall of Fame luncheon saw Curran and Jones, along with Florida inductees Brandon Spikes and Brad Culpepper, honored for the impact they made on the Georgia – Florida game throughout their collegiate careers.

Maybe no player has ever caused more destruction in two games than Jarvis Jones did in 2011 and 2012. 2011 saw Jones rack up five solo tackles, four tackles for a loss, four sacks and a forced fumble in the 24-20 win. The next season Jones was simply a monster, tallying 13 total tackles (12 solo), 4.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks, four quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.

As for Curran, considered one of the greatest inside linebackers in the history of Georgia football, he played in three games against the Gators. He had up 17 total tackles and two tackles for a loss vs Florida. In the 2007 win, Curran had five tackles, including two for a loss.

Curran’s career at Georgia was a great one. To this day, it is hard to find a player who played with more heart and passion on each play. He finished his collegiate career with 298 total tackles (170 solo), 24 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
