Two trespass incidents reported on train lines this morning causing delays at Barrhead and Balloch

A person is in police custody following a train line trespassing incident earlier this morning.

Services between Kilmarnock and Glasgow Central were disrupted due to the incident near Barrhead Station.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “We had an earlier trespasser incident between Barrhead and Kilmarnock. The person is now in police custody and services are now able to run as scheduled.

“We are trying to recover our service and get things back to normal as fast as we can and apologise for the disruption to your service during this time.”

Trains on the Ayrshire line are expected to run on time from 10.30am, but the advice, as always, is to visit ScotRail’s JourneyCheck website for up to date info.

It’s the second trespassing incident reported this morning , with ScotRail sharing another incident, this time on the line between Balloch and Renton in West Dunbartonshire, around 8.10am.

Emergency services were called to the scene and passengers faced delays while British Transport Police and rail staff worked to clear the incident.
