Two teenagers suffered head injuries after a "speeding" car hit a lamp-post and landed on its roof.
Police released dramatic pictures of the flipped mangled grey Suzuki Swift surrounded by trees and hedges after the crash in Fazakerley .
A Merseyside Police spokesman said a 17-year-old driver and 18-year-old passenger were in the car which "was seen travelling at speed" on Brookfield Drive at about 11.40pm on Monday.
Police said officers on patrol who were heading the other way "observed the car driving at speed".
The police spokesman said: "The officers found the grey Suzuki Swift had been in collision with a lamppost a short time later and come to a stop on its roof."
He added: "The two male occupants, the 17-year-old driver and 18-year-old passenger, had sustained minor head injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment."
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
The police's road policing unit which released the photographs tweeted: "Quite surprisingly no serious injuries!"
And an ECHO reader who spotted the crash scene said: "A car has taken out a lamppost and ended up upside down in brambles."
