Two teens rushed to hospital with serious injuries after firework incident in Cabra, Co Dublin

Two teenage boys were rushed to hospital after a firework incident last night.

The incident happened on Faussagh Avenue in Cabra at around 10.20pm on Friday.

Gardai say one of the youths received a serious injury to the eye while the other was hurt on the hand, Dublin Live reports.

One is currently in the Mater Hospital while the other was taken to Temple Street.

A garda spokeswoman revealed the investigation is ongoing.

She said: "Gardaí at Cabra Garda Station, Dublin are investigating an incident which occurred on Faussagh Avenue, Cabra on Friday night, 21st September, 2019 at approximately 10pm.

"Two male youths, 17 years and 15 years received serious injuries when they came in contact with what was described as a firework.

"Both youths received serious injuries, one to his eye and the other to his hand and were taken to The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital Dublin and Childrens University Hospital at Temple Street for treatment.

"Investigations are ongoing."
