Two young teens were assaulted as a gang of up to 15 youths has been terrorising a north Dublin area.
The horrifying incident happened in the Ormond Crescent area of Swords yesterday at approximately 6.30 pm.
One local reported seeing a group of 10 to 15 teens chasing and attacking a young lad in the area.
Speaking on a residents' group page on social media they said: "About 10-15 lads chasing a young lad and beating him up.
"He ran up through swords Manor and got away. Lots of us called the garda as his bag and bike were left behind and some parents followed them.
"Apparently, they are up in the fields now but just make parents aware to keep their kids safe."
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged incident of assault that occurred in the Ormond Crescent area of Swords, Co. Dublin yesterday evening, 23rd April 2021 at approximately 6.30 pm.
"Two youths were allegedly assaulted during the incident.
"Investigations are ongoing."
