Two teens arrested after robberies in Yate during coroanvirus lockdown

Two teenage boys have been arrested over two robberies in Yate on the same day.

Both thefts happened within a mile of each other on Tuesday (April 21) during the coronavirus lockdown.

In one incident, a 13-year-old's bike was robbed while he was at Westerleigh Common. During the second crime, a 17-year-old had cash stolen in Abbotswood.

Officers later located the stolen bike and returned it to its owner.

Detectives have now launched an investigation into the robberies and have urged witnesses to come forward.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries continue and the suspects have been released on bail.

"Police continue to ask anyone with information about either incident to get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101 quoting reference 5220087405."
