Two teens arrested after brawl in the Orient food court at the Trafford Centre

Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have been arrested on suspicion of affray following a Trafford Centre brawl.

An eyewitness said a man was assaulted in the toilets earlier this evening (Sunday).

He said 'dozens' of people were seen with police at the Orient food court.

A spokesman for GMP confirmed that officers were called to a disturbance involving a 'large group'.

He said that no one was seriously injured in the incident, but two arrests were made.

In a statement, the spokesman said: "Police were called to a disturbance between a large group.

"Two suspects, aged 16 and 17 were arrested on suspicion of affray.

"None of the injuries were serious."

Zoe Inman, Trafford Centre director, said in a statement: “We can confirm that police were called to an incident at the Trafford Centre.

"Two suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

"We do not tolerate anti-social behaviour of any kind and will act swiftly and firmly to ensure that anyone disturbing the peace will be dealt with.

"The safety and security of our visitors and staff will always be our number one priority.

"The incident is now in the hands of Greater Manchester Police.”
