Two men have appeared in court charged with murder after the death of a 'sorely missed' Scots man.

Police raced to Marischal Court in Aberdeen after a man was found injured at around 7am on Friday, April 2.

Emergency crews attended but pronounced the man, named as Scott Hector aged 20, dead at the scene.

Both made no plea on their appearance.

Sean O'Halloran, 19, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

A 17-year-old male was also committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Both have been listed under the general address of Aberdeen.

They are expected to appear in court again within the next eight days.

A major probe was launched after Scott's death with cops sealing off the high rise and neighbouring Virginia Court.

Police vehicles were seen in the area in the following days with an incident support vehicle parked outside Marischal Court.

'Heartbroken' family paid tribute to Scott in the aftermath of his death.

In a statement released through Police Scotland they said: "Scott was a dearly beloved son, a brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a friend to many. We are all heartbroken by our loss and Scott will be sorely missed by all.

“Scott was an outgoing, happy person who enjoyed life to the full. He had a love for football and enjoyed gaming on his PlayStation.

“We have been totally shocked by the recent events and will never understand why this has happened to Scott. We would ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

Aberdeen councillor Ryan Houghton, who represents the George Street and Harbour ward that includes Marischal Court, said at the time: "This is a shocking incident for the local community and my thoughts are with the man's friends and family at what must be a very difficult time."
