Two teenagers have died after being stabbed in separate attacks in London.

A boy believed to be 17 was found with stab wounds on the St John’s estate in Hoxton, east London, on Friday night after police were called to reports of an assault. The London Ambulance Service attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11.47pm.

Police said they believe they know the victim’s identity and inquiries were under way on Saturday to inform his family. No arrests have been made.

DCI Andy Partridge, from the homicide and major crime command, said: “A young man has lost his life in a brutal manner and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area last night and witnessed this attack to come forward and speak to police.”

The incident came as two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in Brockley, south-east London, on Thursday evening. The two males, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on Friday night after attending a south London police station. Both remain in custody.

Police had been called to reports of a fight in a block of flats and found two males with stab injuries. One victim, who has been named by police as Shaquan Mario Fearon, died shortly after arriving at hospital, while the other male, also 17, was treated and has since been discharged.

A post-mortem examination on Friday found that Shaquan had died from a stab wound to the leg. Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack.

DCI Will Reynolds said: “Our initial inquiries have established that there were several people in the area at the time Shaquan was attacked. We have had a positive response from the local community but I would urge anyone who saw this incident and has yet to come forward to contact my team.”
