Two teenagers die after crashing allegedly stolen motorbike into car in Adelaide

The motorbike involved in the crash was allegedly stolen, police say.

Two teenagers have died after crashing an allegedly stolen motorbike into a car in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Main North Road and Hogarth Road at Elizabeth East at about 8:00pm on Friday.

They had received reports that a motorbike travelling south had collided with a car turning right onto Shandon Court.

Police said the pillion passenger on the motorbike, a 17-year-old boy from Andrews Farm, died at the scene.

The rider of the motorbike, an 18-year-old man from Davoren Park, was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said the motorbike involved in the crash had allegedly been stolen earlier in the week.

"The orange 2016 KTM RC390 motorcycle had allegedly been stolen from Adelaide on Wednesday," police said.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old Hillbank man, was not injured but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The intersection was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators were at the scene, but it has since reopened.

Police are investigating the crash and have asked anyone who witnessed it or saw the motorbike prior to the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Teen dies in Riverton crash

The crash comes just a day after another fatal crash in South Australia that killed a 16-year-old boy at Riverton.

At about 5:45pm on Thursday, emergency services were called to Riverton Road, near Griffiths Road, in the state's Mid North after a motorbike collided with a car.

The rider of the motorbike, a 16-year-old boy from Riverton, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 41-year-old man, was not injured.

Police are investigating the crash and both vehicles were seized for examination, police said.
