Two teenagers attacked in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street as cops race to early morning incident

Two teenagers were rushed to hospital this morning after being attacked in Glasgow.

As we reported, a police cordon had closed off the area at the junction of Sauchiehall Street and Charing Cross in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A 19-year-old and 18-year-old man were both taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious but not life threatening injuries.

There was a large police presence spotted in the area.

An area of Sauchiehall Street and part of Newton Street remained closed off as investigations continue.

Detective Inspector Sarah McArthur said: “Around 12.25am on Thursday, 30 July, officers were called to the Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, following reports of two men being seriously assaulted.

"The men, aged 18 and 19, were conveyed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
