Two teenagers have been arrested after a 14-year-old boy was killed in an incident believed to have involved a firearm.

Police were called to Thurston, a village in Suffolk, at 1.35pm on Sunday by ambulance crews treating the teenager, who had sustained life threatening injuries. He was taken to West Suffolk hospital, where he died a short while later.

A police statement said: “At this early stage, police believe there was a discharge of a firearm, and are investigating the circumstances around the incident.

“Police have arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of manslaughter, and they have been taken to Bury police investigation centre for questioning.”
