Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of 'multiple robbery offences' on Metrolink

Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of 'multiple robbery offences' on the Metrolink.

The boys, aged 15 and 16, are being questioned by police.

An investigation is ongoing.

The arrests follow a dedicated operation on the Metrolink network, involving local officers and the dog unit.

In a post on the GMP Trafford Facebook page, an officer wrote: "2 male juveniles arrested for Robbery.

"Following a spike in personal robberies on the Trafford District around Stretford, Sale and the Metrolink tram stations police have arrested 2 males aged 15 and 16 on suspicion of multiple robbery offences.

"This is following a dedicated operation involving pro-active patrolling and dedicated uniformed and plain clothes officers on the Metrolink Network involving neighbourhood teams, response officers and the Tactical Dog Unit.

"The investigation is ongoing."
