Two teenagers arrested as boy fighting for his life after stabbing at Rutherglen station

Two teenagers have been arrested after a stabbing at Rutherglen railway station last night.

A 14-year-old boy and 18-year-old man have been arrested in the hours following the incident, which occurred at around 5pm yesterday (Monday, October 8).

A teenage boy suffered serious injuries to his chest and lower body and was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he remains.

The two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody.

British Transport Police officers will be at the scene today carrying out further enquiries.
