Two teenagers arrested after boy slashed with broken glass

Two teenagers have been arrested after a 15-year-old boy was slashed across the leg with a piece of broken glass near a park.

Police were called out to Haresfinch Park in St Helens at around 9.35pm last night (Thursday)  following reports that a teenager had been attacked. The incident is said to have happened on a footpath that runs alongside Woodlands Road.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he was treated for a cut to his leg.

A 16-year-old boy and 13-year-old boy from St Helens were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and have been taken to a police station for questioning.

Enquires into the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
