(Picture: @MPSHatchLane)Two teenage girls have reported being raped and sexually assaulted at an east London beauty spot.
Detectives are investigating Highams Park Lake in Epping Forest after two teenage girls reported the attack to police at 9.30pm on Sunday.
It is thought to have taken place at some point between 4.30pm and 8.45pm on Sunday.
There have been no arrests.
Police have closed off the lake while forensics investigated the scene.
Scotland Yard said both girls are being looked after by specialist officers as enquiries continue.
Highams Park Lake is one of the largest stretches of open water in Epping Forest and is popular with anglers and bird-spotters.
