Two teen girls arrested over armed robbery at petrol station

Two teen girls have been arrested after an alleged armed robbery at an East Kilbride petrol station.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, two females entered a service station on Old Coach Road and allegedly brandished a knife at a male cashier and demanded cash from the till.

Police believe the suspects made off with a quantity of cash and goods.

Two females aged 16 and 15 years-old - who cannot be named for legal reasons - have since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

They will be appearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.
