Two taken to hospital after nasty looking crash on A469 near Ystrad Mynach

This is the aftermath of an horrific looking road crash that saw two people being taken to hospital.

Emergency services were at the scene on southbound carriageway of the A469 near Ystrad Mynach at around 8.30pm on Friday, August 14.

According to Gwent Police, "one (person) ran off from the scene".

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed it had attended the crash and two people were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be a serious.

A fourth person involved in the crash, a woman, was said to be unhurt and taken home by paramedics who had attended in a rapid response vehicle.

An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed that two cars were involved in the crash.

Photos which appeared on Gwent Police's official Twitter account appear to show a silver BMW and a white coloured SUV.

The force said that the road was shut "for recovery and investigation".
