Two taken to hospital after 'mass brawl' in Manchester city centre

Two people were taken to hospital following a mass brawl in Manchester city centre.

There was a huge emergency services response to the fight on Saturday night.

Witnesses said parts of Deansgate, Bootle Street and Jackson Row were cordoned off.

Pictures from the scene show several police cars and an ambulance.

Police say they were called to Jacksons Row at 7.45pm to 'reports of a fight between a group of men'.

When officers arrived the men 'dispersed', police said.

Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries. No arrests have been made.

Speaking on Saturday night, one passer-by said: "There were about six police cars there.

"We couldn't get down Deansgate earlier, but then they reopened it back up."

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 7.45pm on Saturday night (18 December) police were called to reports of a fight between a group of men on Jacksons Row, Manchester.

"Police attended and the group dispersed.

"Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

"No arrests were made and enquiries are ongoing."
