Two people have been taken to hospital after a vehicle flipped onto its side following a three-car crash on a Perth city centre street.
The emergency services raced to the scene on Scott Street earlier today (March 22) after they were first alerted at around 1pm.
The road was then closed to motorists for a period in the afternoon to aid drivers and passengers and recover vehicles.
Four fire crews attended the scene where a female was safely removed from one of the vehicles.
Firefighters also assisted two other casualties on the scene and all three were handed into the care of paramedics.
People living near the incident say they heard a “really large bang” and could “smell smoke coming from the scene”.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.59pm on Tuesday, March 22 to reports of a road traffic collision on Scott Street, Perth involving three cars.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where crews safely removed a female casualty from one of the vehicles.
“Firefighters also assisted two other casualties and all three were handed into the care of paramedics.
“Crews left after making the area safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.55pm on Tuesday, March 22, police were called to the Scott Street area of Perth following a report of a two-vehicle crash.
“Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution and recovery was arranged.”
