Two suspects named after man shot in broad daylight attack

Two people have been charged following a shooting in Ellesmere Port which left a wound to a man's leg.

The victim was shot on Enfield Road in the town at around 2.25pm last Saturday.

He was rushed to Aintree Hospital in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

Police today confirmed they have charged two men in connection with the firearms discharge.

Liam Cameron, 26, of Camden Road, Ellesmere Port, was charged on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession a firearm with intent.

Nathan Elliott, 26, of Faraday Road, Ellesmere Port, was charged on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

Both men have been remanded into custody and will appear at Chester Magistrates Court today.

A 43-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, was quizzed and then released on conditional bail.

Forensics were seen bagging up evidence on Enfield Road and multiple police cars were seen at the cordon.

Jordan Woodfin-Gretsy, an employee at Abode Home Interiors, said he retreated into the shop for safety.

For those with shops inside the cordon, there was a lot of uncertainty as they were not allowed in their premises for a number of hours as investigations took place.
