Two surprise changes for Wigan Warriors' clash with Salford Red Devils

Wigan Warriors will hand Kai Pearce-Paul a chance to impress after being named in the squad to face Salford Red Devils.

The highly-regarded 20-year-old has been named on the bench for the Warriors' clash with Richard Marshall's side at the AJ Bell Stadium.

He is one of two changes to the side, with Joe Bullock recalled to the squad on the bench.

Morgan Smithies and Willie Isa are two exclusions as they both drop out of the matchday 17 for the first time this season through injury.

It means that Mitch Clark retains his place after making his first appearance of the season against Leigh on Monday.

Joe Shorrocks will start at centre in another surprise move by Lam, with Ethan Havard promoted from the bench to starting prop.

Ollie Partington takes Smithies' place at loose forward having started at prop last time out.

Zak Hardaker will continue on the wing with Bevan French at fullback.

Salford have given a rare start to former Warrior Morgan Escare, who has struggled for game time under Marshall. But there's no Dan Sarginson or Lee Mossop.

Warriors : French, Manfredi, Shorrocks, Bibby, Manfredi, Smith, Hastings, Singleton, Powell, Havard, Bateman, Farrell, Partington.

Subs: Bullock, Byrne, Clark, Pearce-Paul.

Red Devils: Escare, Sio, Watkins, Livett, Williams, Lolohea, Patton, Ikahihifo, Addy, Burke, Lannon, Pauli, Taylor.

Subs: Atkin, Lussick, Ormondroyd, Wells.
