Two strangers slashed man with knife as they tried to rob him

Two strangers slashed a man with a knife in an unprovoked attack.

Police have revealed the victim, aged 19, suffered knife injuries during an attempted robbery.

He was walking back to his car on Sunday afternoon (August 9, 2020), when two unknown men approached him from behind and tried to take his mobile phone in the area of Ransom Road, St Ann’s.

The men then slashed him with a knife. He went to hospital with injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Detective Constable Richard Naylor, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an unprovoked attack which left a young man injured. Luckily his injuries were not serious.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been around Ransom Road and saw any individuals acting suspiciously on Sunday afternoon please do get in touch by contacting 101 quoting incident number 631 of 9 August 2020.”
