Two shot on porch in Back of the Yards

Two men were wounded in a shooting in the 5300 block of South Hoyne Avenue, July 6, 2019, in Back of the Yards.

Two men were wounded in a shooting Saturday in Back of the Yards on the South Side.

They were standing on the front porch of a home about 11:40 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Hoyne Avenue when they heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago police said.

A 34-year-old was struck in the elbow, and a 24-year-old was shot in the leg, police said. Both men were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where their conditions were stabilized.

Area Central detective are investigating.
