Two rushed to hospital as East Kilbride street cordoned off after alleged stabbing

A man and woman have been rushed to hospital following an alleged stabbing on an East Kilbride street this morning.

Officers have blocked off a large section of Derwentwater after emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident, which happened at around 9am this morning.

Police Scotland are carrying out enquiries into the investigation following the alleged offence, the East Kilbride News reports.

Officers remain at the scene following the disturbance.

A Police spokesman said: “’Police were called to a report of a disturbance shortly after 9.10am on Friday, September 18, at Derwentwater in East Kilbride.

“A man and a woman have been conveyed to hospital for treatment.

“Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone with any information about the disturbance have been asked to get in touch with police on 101. Alternatively, to remain anonymous, information can be given via Crimestoppers by contacting 0800 555 111.
